MY HOMEMADE GIANT TRIPLE CHOCOLATE COOKIES!! ORGASMIC!! (so easy even you can do it)

SO, my hobby is baking.

I don't bake often because I just don't have the time and the mood sometimes.
My kitchen is kinda tiny and it gets quite hot at times, so being in the kitchen for a long time baking makes me sweaty ~~ Wish I had a huge spacious kitchen =(

Anyway, I did find time during my holidays to indulge in this little hobby of mine =P

One fine day, Daniel and I went to the Giant Supermarket nearby my house to buy the baking ingredients. Fortunately, we got to buy everything we needed at Giant. Yay! Go Giant! (It's not a cheapskate supermarket okay, I find it really convenient to shop for my groceries at Giant and their prices are really reasonable)

If you're still wondering what we're baking, it is the GIANT TRIPLE CHOCOLATE COOKIES!!! Seriously, when I say "Giant" and "Triple", it literally is huge and it'll be triple of the ordinary chocolate cookies!

After getting our baking goodies, we went back to my house and started laying out all the baking utensils and ingredients on to the big table in the kitchen.

Now, LET THE BAKING START (I'll try to make this post look like a step-by-step kinda baking guide)

First, let me pull out my Baking Bible!!

INGREDIENTS (for 12 large cookies)
  • 90g milk chocolate (any normal milk chocolate)
  • 90g white chocolate (preferably, the pure white baking chocolate)
  • 300g dark chocolate (get the Van Houten baking chocolate, it's the best!)
  • 90g unsalted butter (make sure the word "unsalted" is written on the butter wrapping)
  • 5ml vanilla essence (extract)
  • 150g brown sugar (the fine brown sugar, not the huge rough ones)
  • 150g self-rising flour (it's written "self-rising flour" on the flour packaging)
  • 100g chocolate chips (preferably, Van Houten chocolate chips)
STEPS
  • Preheat oven to 180 Celsius. Line two baking trays with baking parchment. Coarsely chop the milk and white chocolate and put them in a bowl.
 180 Celsius

That's me looking at the oven manual to see which shelf in the oven is for baking =P

  • Chop 200g of dark baking chocolate into very large chunks, at least 2cm in size. Set aside.
  • Break up remaining dark baking chocolate and place in a heatproof bowl in a pot of boiling water. (Use a heatproof bowl that floats in a pot, like steel bowls sold in Ikea) Stir chocolate until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter, then the vanilla essence and brown sugar.
 That's the heatproof bowl.
  • Add the flour and mix gently. Add half of the dark baking chocolate chunks, all the milk and white chocolate and chocolate chips and fold together.
Looks very chunky right? You can chop the chocolates into more tiny pieces if you want to =)
  • Spoon 12 mounds on to the baking trays. Press the remaining dark baking chocolate chunks into the top of each cookie. Bake for about 12 minutes until just beginning to color. Cool on the baking trays.
LOL, a lot of cacat-ed ones coz I was rushing for time. I was freaking sweaty and tired already =P

Into the OVEN!!

SO, while waiting, it is a necessity to start cleaning up. VERY IMPORTANT STEP OKAY.

Cleaning up is a good way to kill time while waiting for the cookies to finish baking =D

After about 12 minutes.......... IT IS SHOW TIME!!

TADA!!!!!! It looks bigger in life...haha!

The best part is.... it's FREAKING CHOCOLATEY!!!!!!!!! You can taste all kinds of chocolates in the cookie. Haha. If you're on a diet, confirm diet fail, haha =D

Anyway, I hope you guys don't find this post too draggy. I really hope you try it when you're free, tell me how it goes =P

Oh yea, all of the pictures above are courtesy of Daniel Wong. He was supposed to bake with me but he ended up taking lots of pictures instead and I did most of the baking. But it's good coz I get lots of lovely pictures and he did help me bake a bit lar =P

If you like his pictures, check out more of his photography at http://mushrooms-and-beetles.blogspot.com

I have some clubbing pictures coming up some time this week, so stay tuned folks!!

Toodles!!

Here I Go Again, Sleep Deprived

1st, July 2010 (9:30am)

Went to Monash University to meet up with Lyndy and other mates to go to Justin's house for his birthday surprise. When Justin's mom opened the door for us and we entered, Justin got the shock of his life when he walked out of his room half asleep.. ha ha!

Jody and Lyndy baked the most amazing cake I've seen!

look at the cake!! it's like a football field!!

We talked, laughed, took pictures, and watched Simon play guitar hero. At around 12 something, Jody and I decided to go home because we had to get enough rest for another party later on at night.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN!!!! =D

1st July 2010 (10pm)

Went to Monash University from home to meet Jody. I left my car at the university and hopped into Jody's car to go to Bangsar for Jessica's 21st birthday. I don't have any pictures of the party but will post it up once the pictures are uploaded=D

Then, Jody, Esther, Shanti, and I went to M.O.S for KDU Prom's After Party celebration. It was really fun because we got to meet our fellow KDU-ians... I'm glad that I got to meet up with friends whom I've not seen for a freaking long time. We danced, talked, laughed, and took loads of pictures. Below are some pictures courtesy of Joanne Gan ^^

Kelvin and I. I look SUPER TANNED!

Kelvin, Me, Joanne.

Kelvin, Me, Joanne.

Joanne and I. My love!

Nicholas and I. (Haha, we look so perverted =P)

We left at around 3a.m. On the way home, I was stopped at the police road block. Below is the 'weird' conversation between the police and I.

Police: Selamat pagi, boleh tengok IC dan lesen?

Me: *handed him the IC and driving license*

Police: Amoi datang dari mana?

Me: Tadi di M.O.S. Clubbing.

Police: Oh, you ada minum ar?

Me: Takde minum.

Police: Betul ka? Boleh bau arak.

(WTH. I am allergic to alcohol and he's accusing me of drinking? Stupid ass)

Me: Takde la. Sikit pun tak minum.

Police: Kalau kita 'test' alcohol level you boleh ar?

Me: Boleh. Boleh. No problem.

(He kept quiet, looked at my IC and license and didn't even go take the breath inhaler)

(After a few minutes..)

Police: Amoi sudah kahwin ar?

Me: Belum lar. *annoyed face* Bf saya baru pandu kereta di depan (Daniel was driving in front of me)

Police: Oh, sorry ya, you boleh pergi, thank you amoi.

WTH. DO I LOOK MARRIED TO YOU & I DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL ASSHOLE.

Reached home around 4am and went to sleep at around 5am after washing up and checking my email. Today I woke up at 8:30am to get ready to go to Monash for a meeting at 10am...

I NEED SLEEP!!!!!

I came back at around 1pm, ate lunch, slept for an hour, and got ready to go out again for a function at 4pm..  Pheeeewww... What a happening week.. But ME LOVE IT!

Toodles!

I WANNA WATCH TOY STORY 3!

In the immortal exclamations of our three well-known, multi-eyed, green squeak-toyed aliens (in unison):

"OOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!!"

YES PEOPLE!!! Toy Story is back on our shores and is hitting local silver screens this coming June! The upcoming film is the third installment of one of Disney Pixar's most successful big screen animation franchises, and the best part is that the movie is available in 3-D!

yea..see that lady with her hand up? I do that subconsciously sometimes..HA HA =_="

As of late the 3-D craze seems to have hit our famed Hollywood like a Tsunami bashing the shores of Hawaii (think Lilo and Stitch scurrying for shelter)

Errr...Okayyyy..They're not exactly scurrying for shelter but I think you get the picture.

Toy Story 3 depicts the story of our little toy friends now that their owner Andy is all grown up. Watching movies like this sort of takes you on a journey. I still remember watching the first Toy Story movie when I was so much younger and relating to the story about talking toys (back then I wished my toys could talk to me when I was lonely!)

Not only that, I'll sometimes wake up and check if my toys have moved from their original positions! lol

We're all probably well beyond that stage now and, well, lots of other things will stifle for our attention..

Just to name a few (the pictures should be self-explanatory).

But this movie is certain to bring you back to the days of your childhood and worryingly enough I may even start to wonder if toys really had feelings and/or came to life while I was sleeping!

I definitely can't wait to see Woody, Buzz and the old gang on their adventures again but needless to say, to keep things fresh, the producers have introduced some new characters to breathe new life into the story.

Looking through the new characters list and watching the trailer, I just couldn't help but notice this one particular fella.

ISN'T HE ADORABLE!!!!

I can't help but wish I had a bear who could say...'One of the first things you should know about me is that... I'm a HUGGER!' (watch out for the scene where after saying that he grabs Buzz)

Oh I swear I'll be the first one to grab a Lots-O-Huggin' Bear if I see it on a shelf at the toy store =D

OLD MAN! GIMME THAT!!

Ah well. This is one movie I'm definitely not going to miss! And not to mention a Spanish-speakin' Buzz?!

Movies, anyone?

Toodles!

An Asian Girl with A Black Woman's Hair

I had a bad bad bad bad bad hair day on the 22nd of May 2010.

This is the day when I officially transformed into a semi-black Asian girl.

I have a freaking Afro hair now.

Thanks to an "amazing hairstylist" who successfully burned my hair.

It feels like the dish-washer sponge.. not the soft one..but the hard and rough one..

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I've a fairly decent picture of the Afro hair.. it looks better in the picture because you DON'T HAVE TO TOUCH IT. Coz if you do touch it... You'll seriously think it's grass or something like that..

=_="

It looks huge now right? Try imagining how it'll look like if I don't tie it up... unimaginable...

SOOOOOOOOOOOO..... what am I going to do about it??

I'm going to ask a PROFESSIONAL to save my hair.

Who???

A lovely lady from A Cut Above.. She inspected my hair and said that she can try her best to save my hair.. She also added that my hair condition is the worst she's seen so far... and never NEVER to go back to the hairstylist I went to... Seriously, you kill me also I won't go back to that hairstylist..

Anyway, that hairstylist wants to take responsibility for my damaged hair so she said she'll TRY to save my hair by giving me free treatment... The lady from A Cut Above said, "How much free treatment she give you also your hair will still be like grass" =_="

Lol, but I'll just go to the old hairstylist and let her try her best to save my hair coz she's been messaging me to ask how's my hair and she's worried, etc. So, tomorrow I'll go get the free treatment, and if my hair is still like grass.. A Cut Above will be my last option to save my hair.. no matter how much it'll cost.. =(

So, wait a few more days and I'll post up a picture of a better looking hair.. hopefully..

Till then, toodles!!

Maria, Oh Maria!

Mua on da way to the West!!

After class, I went home to get ready for the night out with my parents^^

We left home at 7pm and reached Istana Budaya at around 8pm.. We collected out tickets and voila! We're finally going to watch the musical!! woooooott!!

Then, we had to wait for the doors to open.. Everyone hanged around and bought some snacks..while I took pictures with my dainty little phone.. ha ha..sorry folks.. no DSLR or any fancy camera yea =S

Not to forget..the signature toilet pose.. haha=P

At around 8:30pm, the doors opened and we all went to our respective seats.. The leg space was pretty tiny unfortunately.. It was worse for the white guy who was sitting next to me.. His legs could hardly move.. Hmm.. they should really upgrade the seats if they can afford it.. I heard quite a lot of people complaining about their seats dy..

Anyway, when the live orchestra started playing, I got really really really excited!! I knew most of the songs by heart because I've watched it since I was young and performed parts of the musical before in a performance when I was younger.. =D

However, as the show continued.. Around the end of the 1st part, people were starting to get restless.. Somehow, it was getting boring.. I'm not sure if it's because of the boring script; the familiarity of the whole plot; the lead singers; or the fact that we couldn't really catch what they were saying in the musical..(I'm not saying that they are all those I mentioned, they're just some possibilities why the musical gradually became boring) We couldn't wait for the break time to come..

After the break, the couple who was sitting beside me was missing and some people behind were missing too.. I'm not sure if they went home or they sneaked into the other floor with better seats below because a lot of the seats below were not occupied and the security did not check our tickets when we entered.. So, actually, anyone can enter just like that.. My gosh..

The 2nd half of the musical got a bit better because the songs were catchy.. However, the thing I didn't like about the musical was the main character who was playing Maria.. In my opinion, her voice is too mature for her character.. It sounds more like an older woman singing rather than a young girl singing.. So, throughout the musical, I really had problems with her voice because it disappointed me over and over again whenever she started singing.. It's not that her singing was bad, it's just that the tone of her voice did not suit the character well.. I've seen the original movie and the original singer's wayyyyyyy better and more suitable for the character.. So, yea...

The other characters in the musical were awesome.. The guys are so hot and the girls sizzling!! They danced really really well too.. All the dancers were phenomenal and most of them could sing really well too!! Great, great job=D *clap clap*

The ending of the musical was a sad one because the lead guy character got murdered but it was expected..Overall, it was not as good as I expected it to be.. My mom was disappointed and I heard quite a few complains from other people as well.. The response from the audience during the curtain call wasn't something to be bragged either.. Their claps were quite half-hearted and I did not really see anyone giving a standing ovation clap... I'm really quite disappointed.. Boo-hoo=(

Anyway, I'm looking forward to future musicals... Currently, the best I've seen so far was Cats, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera and Annie.. I still have a lot more musicals to conquer!! My current favorite is definitely Cats, I can watch it over and over again.. It's brilliant.. Anyway, that's about it for now..

Good job to all the casts and crews for West Side Story!! You guys worked really hard however it can certainly be better.. Just change a few things here and there and voila, perfecto^^

Nite Nite Ppl!

Surprise, Surprise!

I'm quite free now so I'll blog about my birthday surprise that happened last week=) Jody planned a surprise with the Activities Committee members and I really really appreciate all the time and effort put into it=)

30th April 2010

So, Last Friday, I was all dressed up for my PR presentation when I got an SMS from Jody. She said, "Sue, come earlier to uni, I've something urgent to tell you, I need help" Something around that line..

I kept thinking, "My goodness, what is so very urgent? Did something bad happen?"

I left home as soon as I can and drove to uni. She called me when I was almost reaching and asked me where I was. I said I was at the uni parking. She came to greet me while I was walking to uni and she said she had to grab her bag from the office.

I followed her to the office and I caught a glimpse of Jessica's blog site at the office's computer. I was thinking, 'Hmm, it looks like Jessica logged into the office computer but where is she?" Jody went into the meeting room and I followed. I saw a head bobbing behind the meeting table and knew something fishy was going on.

Jody switched on the lights and............... yea, you know what happened...

Everyone jumped up from behind the table and shouted, "Happy Birthday!!!"

My goodness, I was so shocked. My mouth was gaping wide for quite some time. Ha ha.

Thank you everyone for taking time off to give a birthday surprise. I know all of you had classes and assignments. Thank you Jody for the awesome Chocolate cake, everyone absolutely loved the cake^^ Last but not least, thank you Jody  for the wonderful birthday card and thanks everyone for writing really really sweet messages on the card.

I will always remember the moments we shared while planning the Monash Extreme Sports Carnival event.. You guys are like family=D I love all of you to bits^^

All I can say is, it's been a great 21st year for me so far^^ Woot!!!

My B'day Surprise From My Dearie Joanne ^^

25th April, '10

I received an SMS from Joanne saying that she'll be driving to my house at around 10pm or 11pm to come pick me up to visit our friend. So, while waiting, I was practicing for my American Music Presentation for the next day...

Then, Joanne called me, "Sue, I'm outside your house." So, I opened the house gates, and she came in and said, "Can you come out of the house? I really need to talk to you about something important."

She said it in a SUPER SUPER SUPER SAD FACE AND VOICE. I was so worried that something bad happened. So I walked out of the house in my nighties and crossed the road towards Shah's (Jo's bf) car...

And..............................................

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU..HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.."

Jo and Shah started singing the Happy Birthday song..... Right in front of me was the opened car boot with a box of Cupcake Chic Birthday Cupcakes, a huge amazing handmade birthday card, beautiful butterfly magnets, and lovely scented candles..

The lovely hand-made card by Joanne =) The pictures are from the 1st year we met each other ^^ It's been 4 years!! =D

Yummy Cupcakes!! I'm sweet-toothed, this is like heaven for me!! ^^

They're soooooo pretty!!

I absolutely LOVE the hand-made card^^

All of the amazing things all of a sudden.. How can I not cry right on the spot???

Who says a perfect birthday celebration must be huge, grand, and diva-ish? All this small meaningful things are what makes things perfect, especially when it really comes from the heart..

I love you, Joanne Gan, to pieces.. I'm so blessed to have met you in my life=) We'll always cherish each other no matter what shit happens.. Thank you for being such an amazing bestie and sister to me^^

Being older isn't so bad after all =P I heart you Joanne, always^^
